All Good Things...

What more can be said that hasn't been said already? Even before we learned earlier this year that Usotsuki Lily was nearing its end, we would sometimes wonder what we would say when we were about to release the final chapter. But now that we're finally here, there's strangely very little left to say.

The end of this series has left us wanting more Usolily, but I suppose if you feel that way after the end of a series you love, that just shows how much you're going to miss it. But then of course, although there may not be any more Usolily after this, the series will still live on, and will be around for new readers to discover it for years to come. Would we have loved an anime, or even just a one episode OVA? Well of course! But although that never happened for this series, we're still hopeful that someday Ayumi Komura will be honored with an anime of one of her series, something which she wholeheartedly deserves, we feel.

So, although it is sad to see it go, especially since we've been working on it since day one, we feel honored that we had a chance to work on it at just the right time. This leaves only about 25 pages left in the volume until we move it to our completed projects page. We hope that you'll look forward to reading Komura's next work Full Dozer which just started in Margaret yesterday. We also posted some preview art from it on our Twitter account.

And if you want, you can leave any thoughts you have about the series or its ending either in the comments here or on the Usotsuki Lily page. Enjoy!

  1. AHHHHHHHH! <3 <3 <3

Of all the couples' whose weddings they could have ended the series with, I think Komura chose 100% the right one. Truly.

And also he never gave it up! Just on weekends! It was perfect.

  2. Oh wow, all the extra pages that weren't in the magazine chapter! Fun seeing good things happen to characters I had nearly forgotten about, and it's cool to see how Komura decided to resolve things in the end.

Awesome work! Thanks again for doing such a spectacular job translating this whole series. It's obvious how much care and attention you've lavished on it.

  3. The title speak itself.
Congratulations for Komura sensei and Hachimitsu Scans.

Usotsuki Lily ending kinda rushing but it wasn't bad at all. It shows the determination of the author for doing all her best to complete this series at the best interest without damaging the storyline with some cheap ending.
(I'm still traumatized with Yubisaki Milk Tea's ending).
I must say, I'm happy it come to an good ending but deep inside we know that we wanted more of this series to keep going.

Thank you again for keep giving us these wonderful work.

  5. I'm so sad that this series has ended. It's like one of the lights of my life has gone out.

  8. This was excellent.
I was expecting to be disappointed (cause most manga endings nowadays are rushed, and this one in particular had a lot of potential wrong directions to go into...), but it was surprisingly satisfactory and -most importantly- managed to keep the lighthearthed tone and stay faithful to itself to the very end.

Thanks for translating all of this.

  10. I remember reading the first couple chapters, but I don't remember why I stopped. If you decide to release a batch, I may just have to give it another shot seeing as how much you guys liked it.

I can definitely understand that feeling of wanting more of your favorite series. It is a feeling that leads me to constantly reread or rewatch old series.

    1. Batches of volumes 0-16 are already on the Usolily page. Unless you want a torrent after v17 is done.

  13. can't believe it's over. UL was definitely one of a kind.
can anyone help me with some characters from the last chappy?
An's friend and him mentioning his sister and An getting sad because of that, is there a side story to that? And the girl for Kurose, did she appear some place else?

    1. An's story was never explained, but that character appeared once at the end of chapter 33. The girl paired with Kurose is one of Sakura's friends, and they all first appeared in chapter 22.
