I Drink Unto Your Grace!
Madowanai Hoshi chapters 23, 24 and 25 are done, a nice milestone in its own right, since before we worked on Moyashimon, only the first 23 chapters had been previously translated. Just 70 pages left to go this volume, but the series is still ongoing.

A Heart Replete With Thankfulness!
After about 2 months since we left off from volume 2, Madowanai Hoshi is back with volume 3 with chapters 19 through 22. Although the series is now in its third volume, it's taken three years since the serialization began in May 2015 to get this far, so it's a really slow progression. Although it's serialized in Weekly Morning, it only appears in that magazine at most once a month, so it takes 9-10 months to even get enough chapters for each volume, hence why only one volume of this series comes out per year. But for now, there's still another 6 chapters in the volume to go before that long wait will begin.
On a side note, starting with this volume, the editor, publisher, or Masayuki Ishikawa himself decided to start including the character bios for each chapter again like Moyashimon had done in its volume releases, so there's more stuff in the margins than what was seen in the first two volumes. However, none of that other stuff that Moyashimon included like advertisements or editor comments are included, so it's not as obtrusive as before.

We Will Always Be As One!
Today we are here to present Shimanami Tasogare chapter 23, the final chapter. This was rather surprising, since there was no real indication that chapter 22 was the second to last chapter, and when you consider the fact that the first 3 volumes each had 5 chapters each, it was easy for us to assume that once the series hit chapter 20, it would likely continue at least until chapter 25, but apparently, this was either not the original plan, or just ended up being that way for one reason or another.
Either way, there are 220 pages in the 8 chapters we've released from the online raws, so either they're going to release 2 smaller volumes of 4 chapters each, or they're going to release all 8 in a single large 4th volume, which is probably more likely. So when this final volume gets released, we'll redo these 8 chapters with the higher quality volume raws, and only then will we have completed this series.
So, the series may be done, but it certainly could have continued for at least another couple of chapters. The final chapter seems a tiny bit rushed, most likely due to the page constraints of this final 4th volume, which was already at 194 pages before you include the final chapter's 26 pages, meaning there was only a certain amount of pages even available in the final chapter before it became unfeasible to include the last 8 chapters into a single volume, if that scenario rings true. If so, it's quite a shame not only that the final chapter had to be so rushed, but that the last few chapters also had to be rushed to a certain extent.
So what it needed was at least 2 more chapters, if not beyond that to further flesh out some of these characters, especially a certain character who, despite being the main focus of volume 2, was essentially written out of the story after that and only ever so briefly was reintroduced right at the end of the series in chapter 21, and again very briefly in chapter 22.
But the series was still very enjoyable to work on, and we had fun bringing it to an English audience. Hopefully the attention it's gained over the past 2 years that we've been scanlating it will prompt an official license in English. The series is already officially published in French and Spanish, so there is clearly a market for it overseas.

Be True One to Another!
Today, we have a short but special release. Fumiko Fumi recently posted on her Twitter and pixiv accounts a humorous, alternate retelling of how Marika, Yui and Parou met from Bokura no Hentai titled Bokura no Hentai another. It remains to be seen if she'll do any more, but we'll be on the look out.

Let There Be Light!
Eden no Otome volume 1 now comes to an end with chapters 5, 6 and 7, with a few pages of bonus content also included at the end of the volume. The next volume comes out in a few days, but we won't be getting to it until next month.
Also, in case you missed it, there was a mistake in chapter 4 that was later corrected in the previous post, so please exchange the files if you haven't already.
And we are also going to try switching our alternative download from Dropbox to Google Drive. This will have the added benefit of making the files available for much longer, if not indefinite, as opposed to the Dropbox links that were deleted every few weeks. The Mediafire links are always active though, as is our general Mega archive.

Taste of the Fruit of the Tree of Life!
Eden no Otome chapters 3 and 4 are done, more than halfway through the first volume. Despite the copious amount of redraws required for this series, since the chapters are relatively short, it doesn't take that long to finish them.

The Lilies Are in Full Bloom!
To kick off May, we are happy to present the first two chapters of our newest project, Usoumi Watanabe's yuri manga Eden no Otome. Although the title could be translated as Maidens of Eden, the Otome in the title is written as 処女 (shojo), Japanese for virgin, and the series also has an alternative title in German, Die Jungfrau im Garten Eden, which is literally "The Virgin in the Garden of Eden". The story is as follows:
In the distant future, humanity is now only made up of women. Kohane Sumino has just enrolled into the prestigious Shirasakuya Academy that contains within it a secluded courtyard garden maintained by the Gardening Club. Legend has it that if two people pledge their love for each other underneath a pair of trees in that garden, they will be bound for eternity. Kohane seeks out the garden on her first day of school, where she meets Rekka Hanatsuka, the friendly self-proclaimed acting president of the Gardening Club. Although Kohane proves to be fairly popular early on, she soon learns that paradise is not without its thorns.
This is Watanabe's debut series that has been serialized on Comic Ruelle's website since February 2017, although the first volume was only just recently released at the end of last year. However, the second volume is already about to come out in just a couple of weeks, so this was a perfect opportunity for us to pick it up now. The author seems to have a strong love of flowers, as you can see from photos they've posted on their Twitter account, and this is reflected in the manga itself, with copious detailed drawings of flowers. So if you want, please check it out.
Up next, the start of Nettaigyo v02.
