Cross-dress to the Very End!
And now for chapters 26 and 27 of Himegoto from the latest Comic Rex as we near the conclusion of the series at the end of this month. The last two serialized Himegoto chapters will be from the next issue of Febri that comes out on the 17th, and then finally the next issue of Rex on the 27th.
It's going to be really sad having to say goodbye to a series we've been working on for three and a half years and that as of these two chapters has 58 chapters, especially because we've become so attached to these characters and of course Norio Tsukudani's beautiful art, which has come a long way since those early releases. So we look forward to wrapping up this wonderful series, and we're eager to see what Tsukudani does after it's finished.

What? The end coming too soon...
ReplyDeleteI'd better prepare myself for the worse ending later.
Thank you for translating this series.
Sad to see a funny gb manga going. Thanks for bringing this manga to us.
ReplyDeleteOne question. 18+-chan's real name was casually shown during the flashback?
Her name was actually revealed in the volume 2 extras. Which these guys still haven't released yet, come to think of it...
DeleteWith yet another gender bender series you guys are doing finishing I really have to ask. Do you guys plan on picking up any new gender bender series? Just thought I would ask since it sort of felt like maybe you guys weren't as interested in picking up such manga anymore. Given that lately you guys are mostly just picking up various shoujo series. It would be kind of sad if you guys were actually giving up on gender bender mangas once all the series you're currently working on finish though...
ReplyDeleteWell, to be honest, a lot of the non-GB manga they pick up tend to be works by artists they have scanlated GB manga for. Full Dozer is by the same author who did Usotsuki Lily, and Kakukaku Shikajika was done by the Kuragehime author. So in all honesty Id say they are remaining pretty true to course.
DeleteThis is true. Even with Mizutama Honey Boy, we were interested in working on it because of the reverse gender roles of the main characters. And we did relatively recently pick up both Boy Skirt (still waiting for the first volume) and Ookami Shounen earlier this year, and before those two it was Hibari in December, so we are as interested in gender bender manga as we always have been. As of now, although we know of various gender bender manga that aren't being scanlated, we have not commited to doing any additional projects at this time. If you would like to recommend us some titles, feel free to do it here or by email (found on the FAQ page), and we'll respond in due time.
DeleteThat said, not all of the series we pick up are going to be gender bender related. As CrimsonDX stated, we picked up Full Dozer because we still wanted to work on a series by Ayumi Komura, no matter what the story was, and Kakukaku was because we were already doing Kuragehime, and we've grown to love Higashimura's style of art and storytelling. We are always on the look for gender bender related manga to pick up, but not every gender bender is for us, and we are very choosy about which projects we pick up. We hope to see more gender bender manga in the future to pick up.
There's a couple of old series that's maybe isn't completely finished.
DeleteThere's the second volume of Otasuke Miko Miko-chan and Hikaru to Hikari. I think the last chapters aren't scanlated yet.
Well I apologize for needlessly worrying like that then. But it's certainly nice to hear that you guys are still definitely interested in gender bender manga. Guess I just started foolishly worrying for nothing simply just because it felt like gender bender manga was going through a bit of a dry spell. Though I suppose maybe I just got a little too used to all the frequent back to back gender bender releases before.
DeleteIn any case, I've also been wondering the same thing Anonymous asked in regards to the status of Otasuke Miko Miko-chan and Hikaru to Hikari.
The reason why those two are still left unfinished is, frankly, a matter of money. Buying two whole volumes just for two chapters when we can buy other volumes that we are going to use in their entirety has been an issue. It would cost about $25 for essentially 2 chapters, and we try to do our best to maximize the money available across all of our series. At least, we haven't found any other sources for the raws, so we don't see any other way than to buy them.
DeletePerfectly understandable. As it really is a bit much to put towards only just 2 new chapters chapters. Shame I don't really have any money to spare. Otherwise I would have just donated the $25 needed myself.
Deleteah... my favorite series will be end soon
ReplyDeletethanks for scanslating this and other trap series :3
Has Tsukudani Norio given a reason why she was ending the series?
ReplyDeleteNone that we're aware of.
DeleteOnce this series dies I guess the otokonoko boom has finally completely died out... Well, we had fun in the golden ages.
ReplyDeleteI hope your next project is Dolly Kanon ( https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=74664 ) cause in Japan the manga seem big with live action and 3DS game.
