As a Scorpion to Her Sight!

For our last release of 2016, we're ending the year with chapters 15 and 16 of Nanashi no Asterism, bringing us to more than halfway through the volume, as we near the end of our 4-volume, 2-month Nanashi marathon. But with the series still ongoing, there's much more left to go for sure considering the series' pacing.

Now for the year in review. This was a pretty standard year, in which we picked up seven series, four that are still ongoing (Shimanami Tasogare, Shitei Bouryoku Shoujo Shiomi-chan, Seito Kaichou desu ga Josou Hajimemashita, and Nanashi no Asterism) and three that ended (Shounen Princess, Hanayome wa Motodanshi, and Okama Hakusho), in addition to five other series that also ended this year (Sakura no Sono, Bokura no Hentai, Yuri na Watashi, Boy Skirt, and Mori no Takuma-san). Not to mention that we finally finished a few of those old Waai series back in April. Other than that, our other five ongoing projects all got releases this year, despite some hiatuses.

And so, here's the all-important mass-update for all of our ongoing projects, in order of what's coming first. In February, Mizutama Honey Boy v05 comes out, followed by the much-anticipated first volume of Shiomi-chan about a week later, so we'll be working on those that month. After that, we think going by how many chapters they have released right now, that Ookami Shounen v04 and Nanashi no Asterism v05 will both come out in March, although one or both could easily come out a month later. Naturally, Seito Kaichou will continue on a monthly basis, and we expect there to be more from the recent Boy Skirt 4-koma releases soon.

The other ongoing projects are a little harder to pin down. However, we can be reasonably sure that Shimanami Tasogare v03 and Shounen Oujo v06 will both probably come out later next year, most likely sometime between August and October. For one, Shimanami's bimonthly schedule means that only one volume comes out per year, and although Shounen Oujo should be on a monthly schedule, it's plagued so often with hiatuses that we really don't except it to come out until the second half of 2017.

That leaves two other series. Heroine Voice has been on hiatus since October, and although we think it'll restart in Comic Rex next month, it's just as likely that it won't. And of course, there's Kuragehime, which has been on hiatus in Kiss for a year now since January 2016. Frankly, we don't know why Akiko Higashimura won't just write the 5 or so last chapters to finish it off, since it was pretty obvious with the last volume that it was close to its conclusion, and if you've forgotten since it's been so long, it was reported way back in September 2015 that the series was close to ending. So please, Higashimura, if at all possible, we would love to finally finish this series that we've been working on for over 6 years now.

As for any new projects, although we won't give any specifics beyond what we've already stated, there are a few series we're already looking into working on next year, two of which we've mentioned before. The first is Nisekoi Boyfriend lovely, the sequel to Ataru Yamamoto's Nisekoi Boyfriend two-part one-shot that started serialization in Be x Boy back in September. Its first volume, we hope, could come out by around mid-2017, or earlier if we're lucky. The second is Ayumi Komura's as-yet unannounced new series. Assuming she hasn't decided to retire, we will be doing whatever her next series is. In addition, we will be releasing that Ten x Taiyou BL one-shot soon. We bought it, and it's pretty clear that it's just a one-shot, but at least Komura finally released it after having announced it way back in 2014.

So, we hope you had a great 2016 and that our releases somehow made it a little better. It's looking like 2017 is gonna be a pretty good year, and we hope to see you back again for more gender bender goodness, as always.

  5. Ch 16, pg 31, "Did you think him!?". I think that's "thank him" not "think him".

  6. So I stumbled upon Shimanami Tasogare earlier this month and thought to myself 'do you guys have any other projects as good as this?

Then I read Nanashi no Asterism this week and completely fell in love with it, so I'm really looking forward to the rest of vol 4! Thanks for hard work everyone, and Happy 2017!

  7. Yes, thanks for so much hard (and excellent!) work for another year!
And thanks especially for more Asterism. I'm loving it, even though I _do_ end up wanting to just scream at all of them. I'm also going to have to diagram it at some point ("I know that she knows that I know that ...").

    Have a great new years!

  9. I really fucking love you guys. Only scanlators I've ever seen who are consistently quick and keep your readers updated to this extent. I don't know how you do it, but thank you.

  10. I always thought it was amusing that one of the longest running, most prolific scanlation groups out there was one that focused primarily on GB/trap stuff. Anyway, love the series you guys pump out, thanks for doing it. Happy new year!
