Really disappointed Akira didn't appear to change at all appearance-wise after the time skip :/ Considering she transitioned in her teens and would have realistically been on hormones for at least a few if not like 9/10 years she would look at least a bit more feminine than she did here.
Sure not every trans woman goes down the route of hormones, etc. But the manga made it pretty clear that Akira is the kinda or woman who would want that, including in this chapter where they say she persues being cute.
Like, she doesn't even have any breasts after the time jump, which again sure not all women do but all the other female characters in the manga do, and as a manga that circles around a trans girl who clearly would want that kind of stuff, it seems really odd to not have her looking even a tiny bit more feminine.
In fact, I've enjoyed the manga, but there's been a lot of dissapointing elements in this story from a trans girls perspective, although I can ultimately understand it was clearly written for cis girls who are accepting of trans people and that's why it didn't explore Akira's life and transition that bit deeper, like with the relationship with her hair and dad. Though with these last 3 chapters it shows me it totally had the space to if it had been paced slightly differently. I really think delving into those elements would have enriched the story for cis and trans readers, and given a more impactful ending that a timeskip to an ultimately unrewarding wedding :/
Though who knows maybe the last Chapter will resolve all these issues :P
