The Magic of Sweets is Everlasting!

Finally, after working on this series since mid 2013, Sweet Magic Syndrome comes to an end with chapters 36, 37 and 38. This has been a long time coming after the extensive breaks between when the volumes were released, but we're glad that we were able to see the series all the way to the end. Whether you're going to be satisfied with the ending is another matter, though, since it appears the series either got axed, or Cuteg simply wanted to stop working on it, but for what it's worth, the series ends where it ends. A humorous 2-page bonus manga about Cuteg is also included, as well as an afterword.

It may not seem like it if you've never been involved with scanlating, but 4-koma are surprisingly time consuming to work on, which could be one reason why no one picked up SMS even close to a year after the first volume was released (that was September 2012, and we didn't start working on it until July 2013), or why even a series like Koufuku Graffiti still hasn't been picked up despite it getting an anime and being around for about as long as SMS (and no, we do not plan on picking up Koufuku Graffiti).

In the end, we had fun working on both of Cuteg's two original works, SMS and Zenryoku Otome, and we hope to see more from her in the future if she decides to do another original manga. So please enjoy the end of this cute little series as we finish our second series of 2015.

Magic Happens When You Least Expect It!

It may have taken a week, but here's the second Sweet Magic Syndrome batch with chapters 32 through 35, which leaves 3 chapters left in the series. Part of the reason for the delay was due to some computer issues earlier last week, which for the most part have been resolved now, so hopefully, it won't be long before we're done with this series.

Finally, after nearly a year-long wait, we are nearing the end of Sweet Magic Syndrome with the start of the third and final volume. And not only is this the start of the volume, but also roughly the halfway point since we are releasing chapters 26 through 31 together. So please enjoy these chapters as well as the rest of what this cute little series still has to offer.

Sweet is Just Another Word for Love!

Finally, here's the last batch of Sweet Magic Syndrome volume 2, chapters 22 through 25. Going by the release schedule of the first two volumes, it's likely that volume 3 won't be released until early next year, so it will be a long wait until then. In the meantime, we'll be continuing to work hard to bring you the best in manga scanlations.

Now for a general status update. Currently, Shounen Oujo is still on its hiatus in Sylph. Readers of that manga will know that the preview at the end of volume 3 said volume 4 was supposed to come out sometime in 2014, but if it doesn't restart in the next few months, it's more likely the next volume will come out in 2015. Let's all hope that it comes back soon. As for Kuragehime, it is also on hiatus, but it's scheduled to come back in Kiss in July. Therefore, volume 14 will probably come out in September. In addition, the rumors were right: Kuragehime is getting a movie next year. Bokura no Hentai volume 6 should be released sometime in the summer, probably July or August. More recently, the next chapter of Kenjutsu Komachi and volume 15 of Usotsuki Lily will come out at the end of this month.

Next up, we'll be doing Kakukaku Shikajika volume 3, and maybe something else? At any rate, this will be a great month for josei manga. Stay tuned.

Magic Comes in All Shapes, Sizes and Tastes!

In trying to deal with some of our backlog before we get back to the rest of Usotsuki Lily volume 14, today we are releasing chapters 12 through 17 of Sweet Magic Syndrome, which is about the first half of volume 2.

This is also a relatively timely release, since it was just announced that Kiniro Mosaic (another 4-koma published by Houbunsha) is getting a second anime season. Also, if you didn't know this already, Sakura Trick runs in the same magazine as Sweet Magic Syndrome (in fact, they both started in the magazine's debut issue). And on a related note, the anime of Kanojo ga Flag o Oraretara airs next month, and Cuteg illustrates the original light novels. So who knows, maybe we'll be seeing an anime of SMS next year or something. Hey, we can dream, can't we? The rest of SMS v02 will follow after Usolily v14 is done.

With this, the release of chapter 11 of Sweet Magic Syndrome, volume 1 is complete! Thus ends our week-long venture into this wonderfully cute series. Since this is a 4-koma, it'll probably be a while until volume 2 comes out (most likely not until next year), so there will be a long wait until we continue it.

And now here's chapter 2 of Sweet Magic Syndrome. You may notice that we upped the resolution a bit, which may make it easier to read, since the text is generally very small (compared to other manga).

Also, yes, Zenryoku "Otome" has finished, and the volume for it comes out in a few days. When we get it, if there's any bonus content in it, we'll be happy to release it. We're not sure when we'll get it, but probably before the end of the summer. As for the Josou Shounen anthology series, Ichijinsha has not announced a new volume in over 5 months, so it's likely that the series ended at volume 15, Ribbon Group. If so, we've released about 60% of the series so far.

Sweets Come in All Shapes, Sizes, and Nationalities!

We are proud to announce that our newest series is Sweet Magic Syndrome by Cuteg. After we did Zenryoku "Otome", we wanted to do more of Cuteg's work, and found this cute little 4-koma manga that no one had scanlated yet, so it's been a long time coming (the first volume came out last September). The series follows Amako, a girl with a sweet tooth who is just starting high school and wishes to make lots of friends. After she buys a new cup of pudding, she is shocked to find a girl named Pudding appear out of it, who says she's a princess from the Kingdom of Sweets.

Now that we are between a couple of our main series, this was the perfect time to finally get around to this. Also, the first 8 pages of chapter 1 are in regular manga format, and are in beautiful full color. However, this is a little departure from our usual genre, as it is not gender bender-related, but we hope you enjoy it.
