Some Things You Never Forget!

After much anticipation and buildup, here's chapter 71 of Usotsuki Lily. It always pains me to see color pages like this rendered in black and white; it would look so much better if Shueisha actually did the color pages in their volume releases. Oh well, maybe if an anime gets made some day it'll make up for it. This is the last main chapter for the volume, so only the bonus 4-koma chapter and the usual afterword remain until volume 12.

Also some additional notes for the chapter. If you don't know what the gestaltzerfall effect is, read this informative blog post. And at the end of the chapter on the bonus page, there's a reference to "page 13", but this chapter includes an additional bonus page for page 2 which is not counted, so Komura is talking about something that occurs on page 14.

Ringing in the New Year!

Usotsuki Lily's still chugging along with the release of chapter 70. It's almost hard to believe it's already been 70 chapters (and that the manga's currently at chapter 84 in the magazine I believe).

Also, some bad news for Shounen Oujo fans. The manga has once again gone on hiatus in Japan as of February, leaving the manga up to chapter 19 for now. Why? Because the artist Utako Yukihiro recently started drawing the manga version of Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 2000% starting in April, the anime of which is currently airing. That manga is also serialized in Sylph, so that could be part of the reason.

The end of volume 2 had said that the third volume of Shounen Oujo would be released in spring, and if so, it probably would have come out in May. But now that the manga is on hiatus again (it had gone on a similar hiatus back in 2012), the manga likely will not return in the magazine until Uta no Prince-sama is finished, which could be later this year (Yukihiro's two previous Uta no Prince-sama manga adaptations were only 1 volume each). Therefore, Shounen Oujo volume 3 is not likely to come out until very late this year, or more likely, early next year. So sadly, the long wait will only continue.

And also a bit of good news for Kuragehime fans. For whatever reason, Kodansha is releasing volume 12 in July, a full two months earlier than was expected.
