Shimanami Tasogare chapter 3 is done, meaning we're more than halfway through the volume. We should be starting on the last Bokura no Hentai volume this week as soon as it arrives.

You Can't Help Who You Are!

Hot off the heels of the last release, here's Shimanami Tasogare chapter 2. Oddly, this chapter was originally published a month after chapter 1, but then the series went on a bimonthly schedule after that. On the one hand, we would love to read more chapters of this sooner, but on the other hand, all the intricate detail Kamatani puts into the pages would probably not be possible if this was on a monthly release schedule.

Also, there's a very interesting tweet by Kamatani back in 2012 we found that we feel is very relevant as to why he started this manga last year. The tweet in question is translated below:

I know it's not something I have to hide, go out of my way to say, or even try to categorize, but when I've tried to live by flying under the radar, there have been times when I've been very annoyed at myself for thoughtlessly glossing over it. I don't want to gloss over it. I'm X-gender and asexual. That's the type of person I am.

Next Stop, The Twilight Zone!

We're always on the lookout for new series, and luckily for us, no one had picked this one up yet. This is the first chapter of Shimanami Tasogare (Shimanami Twilight) by Yuuki Kamatani of Nabari no Ou fame. It started serialization in Shogakukan's Hibana magazine last year, but even though that magazine is a monthly, this manga is serialized on a bimonthly schedule, so it only gets 6 chapters a year. That's why even though it started serialization about a year ago, it only has one volume right now (and currently, chapter 7 was released in February). The story is as follows:

After recently moving to Onomichi, Hiroshima, high school student Tasuku Kaname is thrown into despair at the possibility that he may have been outed for being gay. Convinced his life is over, his despair turns into shock when he sees a woman jump out of a window of a nearby house. Tasuku races to the house in a panic only to discover that it's a public meeting lounge owned by the woman he saw before. Tasuku comes face to face with the woman as she walks past him unharmed, but not before she implies that she had been watching him from afar. Confused, Tasuku follows her up to the top of a steep hill where she offers to briefly listen to what's on his mind. Although Tasuku doesn't go into too much detail, he later accepts her invitation to come to the lounge to meet others with similar troubles.

Also, as a note to the title, Shimanami refers to the Nishiseto Expressway, also called the Shimanami Expressway, which has an endpoint in Onomichi. Kamatani's stylistic approach and his attention to detail are definitely high points for this series. In some ways, it's similar to Akiko Higashimura's style, so please check it out if you're interested.

Destiny is a Funny Thing!

Yuri na Watashi chapter 9 is done, but the series is taking a break in the next issue of Young Ace, so the next chapter won't be available until late April.

For our upcoming projects, the first volume of Ayumi Komura's new series Mori no Takuma-san was released last week, but we'll probably be working on that near the end of March. More recently, the 10th and last volume of Bokura no Hentai will be released in about a week, and we'll be working on that shortly thereafter. After that, Mizutama Honey Boy v04 should be released in either April or May. Also, we're hoping that Boy Skirt v02 will be released around the same time, but we're not really sure.

And as you may have seen on our Twitter account, Kodansha just announced that Kuragehime v16 will be released on May 13, and we will be working on it that month. At this point, we're fairly sure that it's not the last volume, but we still think it's likely that the series should end with v17, going by the announcement last September that it was close to ending.

The Voice Behind the Voice!

Today, we have the latest chapter of Heroine Voice, and although you may be expecting this to be chapter 4, it is in fact the latter half of chapter 3, and both parts are apparently going to be rejoined in the first volume to be released later this month. Also, perhaps because Norio Tsukudani will be working on that volume, Heroine Voice is taking a break next issue, so the next chapter won't be released until late April.
