What Are Friends For?

So here's Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru chapter 19, the first chapter after the big announcement by Viz a little while ago. Although we fully expected this series to get licensed eventually once we realized how popular it was, Viz grabbing it was rather unexpected. Historically, Viz has been notorious for targeting scanlation groups for working on manga they have licensed, and then there was that recent report by ANN about their URL takedown requests.

However, considering their recent push to release latest chapters for their Shounen Jump titles, it can be surmised that they're at least trying to compete with scanlators now instead of outright attacking them, although I'm sure that still goes on to a certain extent. Of course, that's just with Jump, so I can't really say what's going on in that regard with their non-Jump titles like Nettaigyo, or even how quickly they'll be releasing volumes once they start in October. But I will say that I do recommend anyone who is willing and able to buy the official volumes once they're released.
